The BAT (Bartel Arts Trust) celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2005. Established with funds left by an eccentric Austrian millionaire who was fascinated by South African arts and culture, the BAT Centre is one of the city's premier venues for live music, visual arts and restaurants.
